Flea and Tick Preventive Alternatives

There are many types of flea and tick preventives out on the market today which use pesticides like Fipronil, Imidacloprid, Pyrethrins, Pyrethroids and Organophosphates.  Some of these pesticides even have found their way into our waterways and have been known to harm aquatic invertebrates. 

 

To help repel fleas and ticks from your property try planting Sage, Lavender, Rosemary, Garlic, Citronella grass, Lemon Grass, Marigolds, and Chrysanthemums around the boundaries of your yard or where your pet likes to potty.
